CHEAP

This is definitely one of my more casual outfits. I literally threw on this black maxi dress and thought "No. Today I am going to be lazy". I put on my Cheap Monday pullover, added my beloved Topshop eagle necklace and decided that it was good enough for today. Adding little touches like this necklace or spiked boots can immediately make it look like you have put in a lot more effort into an outfit than you actually have. But no one has to know that. That is what I love so much about accessories. I also tried curling the ends of my hair a little bit and slowly but surely I think I am mastering the curling technique with my straighteners! Nevertheless, as I am right handed the left side always* turns out beautifully but the right side looks, well, crap. Practice will make perfect though.

*Okay maybe not always.

SUNNY IN SCOTLAND

OKAY. It was sunny for about 15mins after the rain came pouring down but that still counts, right? We arrived yesterday after a night in Leeds to break the journey and I can already feel such a huge difference in temperature. My toes are freezing and I just want to wrap myself up in all the tartan scarves that I can find. I was not entirely sure what to pack with my but I am so glad a brought a few jumpers. I bought this one in H&M a while back and it just looks so much cooler than your standard striped jumper. I was going to wear a simple gold chain with this outfit but the Zara necklace was basically screaming at me to be put on so I decided to jazz up this monochrome outfit with her. Yes, her. It is so beautiful I does not seem right to call it "it". This is why I am such a clothes hoarder: I get too attached to accessories and clothes. I think I will be purchasing a few more statement/OTT necklaces à la Arabella Golby (check out her blog for classier ways to wear this necklace!) because they just add that extra little something to such a simple outfit.

PS, voting for the Cosmo Blog Awards 2013 closes at the end of the month so there is still plenty of time to vote! If you have not yet voted yet and think my blog deserves a vote then I would really appreciate it if you could head over to this page to vote for KaoriAnne under category 3 (best established fashion blog). To complete your voting process you will have to enter your name and email. Thank you in advance xoxo

CALAIS

Ten minutes before we were about to leave this morning for Calais, there was a buzz at our door and standing there was a man with a package from Motel Rocks. Talk about perfect timing! I picked this out not too long ago and, being the impatient person that I am, I was dreading the wait until I got back from Scotland to be able to wear this dress. There are so many amazing dresses but this one made my eyes go all google-y. I was a bit iffy about the cut-out shoulder trend when it was being done on a lot of denim shirts. I always like a little bit of a cut-out because it adds a little bit of sexiness without being too vulgar. It reminds me of they way the nape of the neck is shown off whilst wearing a kimono. Also, with the dress being such a bold colour and with it having quite a box-y shape, the cut-out makes the dress a lot more flattering. I am so in love with this dress I think I might have to sign into UNiDAYS and use that 25% student discount to get the black one!

PS, If you click "Read more" at the end of this post then check out some bonus photos of when I met the most hilarious woman at her fishing/duck game stand.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I have never really been into sharing personal photos on my blog but these ones I could not help but sharing. One of oldest and best friends Christine had a shoot planned with Sonia and I decided to give a helping hand with the make up/hair and a bit of the styling. This has been my favourite shoot that I have assisted on I cannot wait to see the end results! The theme was very gothic with dresses leant by the luxembourgish deisgner Sacha Cooper but as the shoot and different looks slowly came together we ended up with a Spanish-widow-in-mourning story. Keep up-to-date with Christine Xuan's work on her facebook page here.
