JUMP FROM PAPER - WHY TAKE EVERYTHING SO SERIOUS?

My family and I are heading off to Scotland soon so my brother and I decided to head out to buy a few DVDs for the car journey - it was the perfect chance to throw on a new bag a I received from the JumpFromPaper team. And boy, did I get some looks. I would say my style is quite serious (whatever that means) so it was nice to browse the website of such a playful and easy-going brand. This particular Caramel bag only has enough space for a phone, a wallet and a set of keys but they really are all you need when you are running a few errands. This bag is pretty much the closest I will ever get to being on Blues Clues which I used to* think was the coolest show ever. I also love how the bag matches so well with this H&M hat which I have fallen back in love with recently.

*I still do.

I would like to leave you with their about section which I think is simply adorable beyond words. We all need to have a little fun sometimes:

"JumpFromPaper stands for a passion to make laughs. We start from making fun of ourselves, and go on making things amusing and entertaining.

JumpFromPaper’s unusual and funky exterior confuses and pleases people, while at the same time its inner advocates an outside-the-box, imagination-has-no-boundaries philosophy. JumpFromPaper is a medium for people to discover their whimsical personality, and for their imagination to go wild. It is great to sometimes change the way of thinking, subvert the traditional logic and make life more fascinating. Life is too short to go around being boring all day.

JumpFromPaper adds a sense of quirkiness to conventional bag design. Every detail reveals the boldness and creativity of the designer duo. The collection not only serves as a perfect expression of individualism and uniqueness, it also speaks the philosophy of our brand, “born to enjoy life!”"

THE NECKLACE

I posted a photo of this necklace on Instagram a while back and ever since then I could not pass it up as it just looks way too badass. I love how the spikes make it so edgy but the pearls, deep blue and emerald colours make it classy. This necklace is not just a statement piece. It is over-the-top jewellery at its best. I recently also found this awesome jumper in Zara reduced to 17 EUR! I originally planned to wear this outfit to Manfriend's sister's birthday celebration but I was melting way too much in this outfit so I ended up swapping this out for a simple black a-line skirt from Topshop and a loose box crop tee. I did still wear the necklace, though, which proved to be a hit with a few of her friends. I shall definitely be whipping out this outfit again when it gets a bit cooler. After having taken a look back at my older previous posts, I have realised that this is the first post in a while where my face is not hidden behind sunglasses! Hello.

TOPSHOP CRAVINGS

Well, it looks like I will be finalises my living situation in Brussels and it seems as though the fact that I will have to put up with Brusselian weather is slowly dawning on me. As you can see, this is not a particuarly summer-y post. I was taking a break from replying to emails and had a cheeky browse online. I realised that I do not own that many plain, simple maxi skirts. Not even a black one! I also think I should probably purchase a shorter black skirt like this one for work. I also think these cropped jumpers would look great with either skirt. The camel and grey ones are my favourite but they have a few other colours to choose from as well. I am so really in love with these two-toned shoes but the last pair of shoes I bought from Topshop have been quite painful, so we shall see. I am also slowly falling in love with hats again. I previously mourning the loss of my favourite black 980 JPY fedora which my Japanese grandmother bought for me but September is just around the corner so perhaps now is a good time to buy a new one! I will be in Scotland soon so maybe I will have to take a sneaky trip to the closest Topshop...

PS, someone please sign me up to a shopaholics meeting. Anything in the Brussels region?

I VIII MMXIII

WHOA - so it is now August and in a month's time I will be moving to Brussels. I have found two potential apartments in a lovely neighbourhood so I cannot wait to finalise everything. I have already spotted some buildings with beautiful architecture which will be awesome backdrops for outfit photos. Today, I was doing a bit of shopping (surprise - gasp - shock) with my good friend Tina who has a shoot scheduled for Monday so we were hunting for some accessories. Inevitably, I made a few personal purchases such as a new B&W jacket from Zara (see it on my instagram here) which was originally 120 EUR but was marked down to 40. FORTY. I could not believe my eyes. Mainly because I was so shocked that my eyeballs dropped to the floor and thus were completely unreliable. I seem to have been really lucky with sale finds lately as I spotted this new B&W black in the Marc by Marc Jacobs store with a 40% discount. I of course justified this purchase by saying that as it is black on one side and white on the other, it is essentially two bags in one.
